About the Sangha

The Dzogchen Sangha of Pittsburgh was established in 2000 by students of Lama Surya Das, a Lineage Holder of the Dzogchen Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the Rimé (non-sectarian) tradition. The Sangha meets in Oakland on Saturday afternoons for conversation and Dzogchen practice according to the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism and Bön.

We are an informal community, and we welcome meditators of all levels of experience. We are happy to discuss questions you have about meditation practices. We practice Dzogchen meditation, which is sometimes known as natural meditation or non-meditation; this is the practice of being present, moment to moment, without effort or technique.

We meet in the Three Rivers Dharma Center, 201 S. Craig St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Enter the space from Henry Street. The Center is in a basement space located behind Snow Lion Imports and under Oliverio beauty salon.
